Photographs of Duluth Women’s Nonprofit Art Auction

On November 22nd, I had the absolute privilege of photographing What She Brings to the Table, a silent art auction unlike anything I’ve experienced before. Held at the cozy and vibrant Studio Café, downtown Duluth’s newest creative coffee shop, this event wasn’t just about art—it was about community resilience. The evening brought people together across socioeconomic levels, united by a shared commitment to empowering women and families in the Central Hillside neighborhood.

The event showcased the incredible talents of the women supported by the Duluth Center for Women and Children (DCWC). It’s no secret that I believe in the power of storytelling, and this event proved how art can be a profound medium for sharing the untold. As I captured moments of the women explaining the stories behind their artwork, I found myself tearing up. These women are not only creating art; they’re creating ripples—ripples that will grow into waves of change for our community.

As someone who values being present in the here and now, nights like these remind me why I love doing what I do. Photography is my way of freezing moments like these in time. Moments filled with heart, connection, and raw humanity. Here’s to more nights like this, to art with purpose, and to the connections that make us stronger. Let’s keep creating together.
