“To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life.”

— The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

The Middle Ground

Premiered on March 27th at Zeitgeist Teatro

A documentary that explores the "uncommon" but deeply powerful values-based food system that connects the hard work of our small-scale farmers directly to the kitchen tables of food-insecure households. Based on extensive research by Dr. Aparna Katre and evidence-based community initiatives like Nourish, this film takes a deep dive into the power of collaboration. It features the incredible work of local partners you know and trust, including: DCWC, Gloria Dei, CAD, and UMD. When our community organizations align their missions, we don't just put food on tables, we build a stronger, more self-reliant ecosystem.

Upcoming screenings:

Wednesday, April 15th at 3:00pm at UMD Library Rotunda

Sunday, April 19th at 11:00am at Gloria Dei

Tuesday, April 21st at 6:15pm at Harbor Theater

URSA Morocco

URSA (Undergraduate Research Study Abroad) is a short documentary that follows undergraduate researchers from the University of Minnesota Duluth as they travel to Morocco with academic goals in mind and return forever changed. But what makes this place, program, and people so unique? Through conversations, reflection, and immersion in a new culture, “URSAns” confront questions of race, belonging, and global citizenship. What begins as research evolves into a story about empathy, confidence, and the transformative power of stepping beyond what you know.
